Noise By-law Exemption Request

Noise is regulated by the Township's Noise By-law. The by-law includes both general restrictions on certain types of noise as well as time-based restrictions for certain activities.

Certain activities within the Township may require an exemption to Noise By-Law #22-049, such as special events featuring amplified sound (anniversaries, birthday parties, weddings, etc.), or overnight/weekend construction.

A minimum of two (2) weeks notice is required to process exemption requests.

The operation of any equipment in connection with construction between 8:00pm and 7:00 am, or Sundays or Holidays.

The operation of any motor vehicle other than on a highway or other place intended for its operation between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.

Persistent barking, calling, whining or other similar noise making by any domestic pet or any other animal other than agricultural animals.

The operation of any powered or non-powered tool for domestic purposes other than snow removal between 9:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
